Mossberg 590a1 shooting VERY low!!
Purchased a new Mossberg 590a1. Went out to pattern it with buck loads, and found that is was shooting VERY low at 50 yards. Shot was patterning about a 1 lower than POA. I had to adjust the rear ghost ring sight to the point where the center line is touching the highest elevation line on the inside of the protective wing to be centered.
What is going on here? It shouldn't be off by that much. |

Interesting, we just had a similar posting about a Mossberg with the opposite problem. Have a look at: 500 SPX sight adjustment bottomed out and still shooting high. Do you have the option of lowering the front sight on your M-590a1? Or, you could shoot faster loads. I don't suppose you'd consider bending the barrel a pinch.

Im the guy with the 500SPX in the linked thread, But our guns use different sights. Ive been lazy and putting off contacting Mossberg until tonight so hopefully i have an answer to my issue soon. Mine uses and AR style non adjustable front sight and a normal AR style adjustable rear sight.
If they have no taller front fiber optic inserts i may be reduced to making my own, I like doing stuff like that but would rather have it done right if possible from the company. |
