Gun Info help?
First off let me say that this forum is awesome, i've been looking for a good place to read up and expand my knowledge and this place looks like a good start!
Cool, now for my current issue... I'm thinking about buying an shotgun from a friend who got it as a gift from his wife. Neither of us have heard of the gun before so i'm trying to find out what i can before making the purchase. From what i understand the gun is an Isidoro Rizzini Techni-Mec Model SPL 640. 20 Gauge over/under. I've been searching and cant find any solid info on this thing so any help i can get is well appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Google the make and model (Isidoro Rizzini Techni-Mec Model SPL 640). You will get about 800 hits.

lol, that was the first thing i did. I've been to just about every site that google gave me and still have turned up no solid info or reviews. I've even been to the company's Italian site and gone through their catalogs and manuals and haven't been able to find info on this model

First, Welcome to the ultimate forum for responsible firearms discussion...
Second, If no one comes along straight away, you may try shotgun world... http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php I consider that site to be a great shotgun specific info forum... As for your question... I am just an uneducated redneck and that brand name has never been whispered passed my ears... Brent |

The importation of your friend's folding O/U shotgun was discontinued in 1997.
ILO Isidoro Rizzini, etc - google F.A.I.R. the corporate name. F.A.I.R. shotguns were IIRC only "fair" in finish, quality and value - being only a step or so above "economy" models, with the exception of a few highly-finished, decorated/engraved, specimens. "Established during 1971 (F.A.I.R. stands for Fabbrica Armi Isidoro Rizzini, owned by Isidoro Rizzini) and located in Marcheno, Italy. No current domestic importation under the F.A.I.R. trademark. In 2003, the name changed from F.A.I.R. Tecni-Mec I. Rizzini to F.A.I.R. S.r.l. Previously imported and distributed exclusively by New England Arms Corp. located in Kittery Point, ME." . |

There's several Rizzini companies making guns in Italy. They very from entry level to bespoke, custom order guns.
Isidoro makes mid grade at best. HTH.... |
