Primer Pocket

I currently tumble, deprime, then sonic clean my pistol brass.

I tumbled first so I wasn't grinding field dirt through my progressive. Then I sonic cleaned to clean the primer pockets.

Not talking about rifle but is it worth cleaning pistol primer pockets?

Meh. Unless yer having primers seat too high I'd skip it.

What I figured. Looking for a compelling reason to do continue one but screw it. Too much work. Will save the primer pocket cleaning for my rifle rounds.

I have a similar process, tumbling, then depriming, then wet tumbling. One reason, other than OCD, is that the deprimed brass drains and dries better. I dry it all in a food dehydrator, so it might not even matter, but it's a habit I developed when I was just air drying.

I deprime with a lee depriming die, the wet tumble with stainless steel pins. Cases are clean inside and out, including the pocket, and ready for reload.

I always clean the primer pockets as I tumble and when I don't use the sonic cleaner....Why? to ensure no cobb is lefts in the hole and I when I load for my long range rounds now it could just be my habit but it suits me.

Deprime, wet tumble with the stainless pins and everything is clean.

Back in the dry media day, I would deprime, tumble, inspect and use the Lee primer pocket cleaning tool if the pockets were in need.

Yep, wet tumble w/SS pins after depriming and you're done. Super clean primer pockets.
