A good buy or not?

I'm buying a H&R 45-70 Handi Rifle from Buds. It should be here any day now. I was just on EBay and saw a H&R 270 barrel for $130.00. I know if you buy a new barrel from H&R, you have to send them your receiver for fitting. Would this barrel on eBay not fit right and maybe malfunction? Is it worth a try? What do you guys think? I'm not looking for anyone bashing H&R, that's not the reason for the thread. I just want to know if buying a barrel off eBay is OK and safe. Thanks.

Otto there is a reason you send the reciever, Headspace. They have to adjust the headspace on the new barrel.

The big problem is the headspacing.

If you don't have a way to check it/change it, you don't know if you are going to have a problem.

You don't want to have an out of battery explosion with a break open action right in front of your face.

Sounds good. The same barrel is only $96.00 from H&R. I just didn't want to be without the receiver for 4 weeks. I am looking at getting more barrels for it soon.
