I have a Factory Mini 14 magazine that has a small amount of rust spots on it. Can anyone advise me how to remove the rust spots?

A piece of oiled steel wool lightly rubbed across the surface usually works. Other techniques are copper wool or brass wool (available in grocery stores for cleaning pots) and oil. Scraping with copper can remove slightly heavier deposits; use an old (pre zinc) penny.

Brass or copper will leave a deposit which will darken nicely with touch up blue after you clean off the oil.

Get some ZUD ferom the grocery store. It attacks only rust, not bluing. waterbased with a soft toothbrush should take care of the problem.
