Anyone know anything about this Rogers & Spencer in .44 S&W?
This is a Rogers and Spencer in .44 S&W cartridge. All I know is it is a repro and was made in Italy. Blue barrel grey frame birds head grips. Anyone know its value or anything else about it?

Judging from the look of the grips and the remaining flare I'd say the grips and frame were reshaped after it was purchased. I've seen Remingtons done that way.

Looks as if the front sight was modified, as well. All the R&S guns I have seen used a post type front sight without a dovetail in the barrel.

The color of the barrel doesn't look like it matches the frame.
The frame looks like it's London Gray and the barrel looks stainless or refinished, polished steel, hence that could be the reason for the different sight. The hammer looks like it was refinished & polished too. Last edited by arcticap; March 18, 2011 at 02:20 PM. |

I did miss that detail. Then I suppose that the hammer and the sight would probably also be blue.
And the trigger blade looks gold in color. Last edited by arcticap; March 19, 2011 at 02:25 AM. |
