In the past couple weeks i have found that it is very benificial to do some home work and do simple tasks yourself. I free floated three guns and adjusted the trigger wieght on my 700 BDL in i figure i probably save around 100-200 dollars when you factor in the gas money and gunsmithing costs. I am really getting into the dynamics of the guns i own

In addition to saving a lot of $ it's a nice sense of accomplishment in doing it yourself. I have more time than money these days (retired, no boss no job no money). Iv'e made stocks, cut down barrels, free floated 4 rifles so far. If you really have a lot of time on your hands try some checkering. My 8mm Mauser. I killed that rattler and made the sling too.
