CZ 83 discontinued?
If this has been posted before and I missed it sorry (I did search). I was reading on the CZ forum that the 83 will be discontinued. I think that is a shame. A great gun with a lot of history. Buy them while you can

It's a shame because it'll be harder to get parts for the CZ82...

Yes, the CZ 83 in several calibers is being discontinued, and for a sound economical reason - sales. There are several smaller carry guns that use the same or larger calibers, with far more local availability in the US than the physically larger CZ-82/83. The CZ-82, of course, was "discontinued" years ago when the Czech police upgraded the the CZ PCR 9mm pistol.
I think there will be parts availability for several years yet, though that is a semi-educated guess. |

It's competing in the marketplace with CZ-82's, and anyone with sense is buying them and not the 83. Obvious exonomic decision. It's a niche gun... big and heavy and excellent in a caliber more reserved for tiny deep concealment pieces half the size and weight. Love my 82's (have three), not seeing any extra value in the 83.

It's a real shame. The CZ83 .380 I have is an excellent gun!

I didn't realize CZ was still producing the CZ-82, and thought they were all milsurps.

they aren't producing the CZ82, but they are the 83, and alot of the parts are interchangeable.. same gun different calibre basically (9x18mak vs .380)

I wonder, will this cause the cost of the 82 and 83 to go up or down?

I'll keep my 83 in .32 ACP and shoot it a lot. It's a pistol to enjoy.
