S&W .38 5 shot info needed!!

hey everyone! I just got my great great grandfathers .38 s&W 5 shot revolver for Christmas and was wanting to get as much info as I could to finish restoring it. It is in really decent condition except for an inner piece that rusted beyond repair. I found where to order parts but could use some more info and there's some people on here that really know their stuff. The serial number on the bottom of the butt starts with 8483X. Can anyone tell me the model, when it was made, a good place to reference what the part is that I'll need and to order it, ect?? Anything you could help with would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a million!!

S&W used that serial number on several different models of guns which is why I asked the questions in the other post, so as to narrow it down.
