Thanks for the heads up, however I'm looking for brass cased rounds. I'm hoping to save them for when I finally am able to start reloading for myself (No space for it at the moment sadly)

So far it looks like my original source for ammo is still cheaper than most other venues. So I'll likely go about picking some up while supplies last.

Barnes Store in Carrollton, GA had multiple calibers especially rifle. I don't know about .223 and their suppose to get a big shipment of .22LR next month.

I actually had a brand and grain choice in 9MM self defense ammo.

They actually had a good bit of .410 as well.

1000 .556 for 529.00 (brass)
or steel cased500 for 159.99
plus pleny of othe 223-556 ammo

I went with the 1000
Just because I reload..
also picked up 100 rounds of 22mag

Looks like the shortage is slowly starting to ease. Yesterday I was able to buy 20 pounds of AR Comp, and that stuff is hard to find. They had a good selection of powder.

I was also able to buy 5000 9mm projectiles.

Before anyone accuses me of hoarding, I'm shooting this stuff at high volumes and I'm an end user.

The dealer I shop at says they're getting supplies back on track slowly.

I have to agree. I walked into walmart this morning and the shelves were full plus there were unpacked boxes tucked in behind since there was no room left. I managed 2 1000rd packs of M*22 and left all the .45, .40, .38, .357, 9mm and the other .22 for whoever else wanted it. I was tempted to buy 1 more box but figured this will get us through a few weeks and by then hopefully things will be even better. Yes I know this is rare for even walmart but the store is in a busier area than the ones I usually go to and it never has ammo. Something has to be said for that. Oh I also have to say that since the madness began Meijer stores have never had any ammo on the shelves because they didnt limit it and only got one shipment a week(which was bought by one guy). This week my jaw dropped when I actually saw ammo on their shelves. It was wwb 100rd packs of .45. That was an amazing sight indeed.

It doesn't appear under everyone's name/Avitar.

I guess in some cases, people are saying "Hey, if you live in Smithville, the local Wallys has 22 ammo, go buy some quick". In other cases, people are simply suggesting that ammo is once again becoming available as in "My local Wally" but we don't know where that locale is.

Either way, it likely doesn't help the actual ammo buyer much. By the time anyone posts about availablity at a local brick and mortar store, it's likely gone.

I am fidning that websites like midsouth shooters has better values on bulk items. You have to buy in bulk to outweigh the cost of the hazardous materials charge and shipping. Even after shipping and haz charge, I find a buy in bulk is still cheaper online.

For example, at my local gun store, 8pounds of AR comp is $220. At midsouth, the same is around $140, if I'm not mistaken. Granted, it's on back order and will take six months to fill, so I had to buy the overpriced AR comp.

Midsouth shooters is awesome bc they allow back order and will not ship until they have your entire order. Some sites, like midway, won't even allow a back order. You have to check everyday, which is a pain in the buttocks. Other sites take a back order (like Dillons) but will ship out in pieces as each back order becomes available. The downside to this is that they will sometimes charge double or triple the shipping or hazardous materials charge due to breaking up the order.

I stopped a Walmart in Glendale a couple days ago.

They had 4 AR15's on the rack, but the ammo cage only had .270, .30-06, some magnums, and shotshells.

Here in Houston, there is no 9 mil ammo anywhere. The Walmarts have people lining up at 6 am waiting for ammo shipments. It is gone within minutes. Same story everywhere else. I work and don't have time for this insanity. I give up on finding any 9 mil. Maybe in a few years it will get better.

I went to walmart in STL on sunday at around noon and there where 2 100 round boxes of federal 9mm there.

Some dude was already waiting for the ammo guy to unlock it and buy it though.

So I just ordered 250 rounds (5 box limit) of Fiocchi from natchezss. $15/box still there...

Look around for deals, availability is increasing which will make it harder for places to get away with such high prices.

In a statement from Brownells, they said the manufacturers are turning out 11 million rounds of .22 a day. It is a really high use cartridge anyway, compounded by the hoarders...that makes for problems of availability. I think it will stabilize eventually if our "Savior" in Washington stays out of the gun control business. I see some around occasionally now but people that have had such a time finding it are still buying up anything they see.
I hope we all remember some of the major price gougers when the situation clears up and shop elsewhere. When times get bad, it can seperate the good guys from the bad in the shooting fraternity and we find out who we can rely on to support us. I guess "Dirt isn't all that Cheap".

I try to keep a few thousand rounds on hand for each caliber in the pantry so I guess I am a "hoarder", before the panic of 2013 I was considered "wise" by my friends for being prepared. Last week I received a case (5000) of .22 from CMP that I ordered Jan 4 in response to their email and before I was aware of a nationwide shortage. That case went on the shelf with the other reserves.
Finally my point: yesterday I went to our local Bimart to check on .223 ammo, which they did not have, however two cases of mini-mags were on the hand cart. At $6.33 a box of 100 I left with my authorized two boxes (200 rounds) of ammo that I did not need and should have left for other shooters. After the guilt set in I put a bulk pack aside to give to the Hunter Safety program for kids who cannot find ammo, did I vindicate myself? Actually I have donated ammo to them on a regular basis since the "shortage" began. I guess it is human nature to eat a piece of apple pie if put in front of you even though your distant neighbor may have none.

I just scored 1000 rnds of Montana Gold 9mm 124 JHP, and 1000 rnds of 45 ACP 230 JHP.

You just have to check their website in the afternoon and evening. As soon as they post quantities, they are gone.

Hornady just announced that they are suspending production of a whole bunch of their product line so that they can concentrate on mass producting the stuff that is in greatest demand.
