Should a Weaver V7-1 click?

Hi,

I am playing with an elderly Weaver V7-1.

When I turn both the height and windage adjustments it is just like backing up and down a normal screw. It does not have the locking detents and click sound like every other scope I have does.

Is this correct for this model or is it broken?

Cheers
