but I liked some of their 'not so popular' products (which are still hard to find.)
Sounds like those are going to be hard to find for a while more.

And all of them are always "out of stock".

Also I refuse to pay price gouger prices.

I guess you'll just have to quit the hobby then. Meanwhile, I seem to have no problem buying 22, 9 and 38/357 ammo, at reasonable prices, enough to shoot at least twice a week.

Maybe I've got a different interwebs connection.

Powdervalley has 8lb jugs of 760 in stock, and they are only 15 days behind on shipping, looks as though they are almost done processing and shipping from the craze and aftermath rush, cross some fingers to see if availability of products start appearing! Also my local range got 2 cases on 22lr, including bulk remington, federal and cci minimags and stingers, I was starting to believe 22lr was a myth, however I left it for others as I still have a remington bulk pack from a few months ago, its definetly clearing up !

Well on the guns side of things, for the first time since Jan. our local Walmart has 2 AR-15s actually in the display case! One is $800+, and the other one is the new Colts for $1167. So at least that seems to be getting back to normal.

I live in myrtle beach and I have not had a single problem seeing ar 15s in any shop around me. In fact, a shop on 701 (cant remember the name, sorry) had a wall full in early May. The problem here is ammo, everyone in SC already has the guns they want/need

I swung by the Walmart counter in Sedalia, MO, today, and they had a half dozen ARs in the case. I couldn't tell you the price or particulars, just that they had them, and the counter guy told me they had another dozen in back but they hadn't sold one in the past week.

They still didn't have any popular caliber ammo - 22lr, 9mm, etc., and the guy told me demand for their few shipments was still very high and sold out fast.

I received an email form Aim Surplus at 6:23 pm that they had Spike's Tactical AR lowers back in stock for $89.95, limit three. By the time I read the email an hour later they were sold out.

Today the Lawton Wal-Mart on Hwy 62 had a Colt LE 6940 for $1,397.

The new Lawton Academy store opened today. At 13:00 they had 24 AR-15 rifles in stock, ranging in price from about $950 to over $2,000. The Academy store has a very large stock of ammunition. 22LR, .22 WMR, .223, 9mm, .380, .45 and a few other calibers are rationed to one box per customer.

How low will .22LR go by late '13?

To be clear, any speculation is welcome. This is all we can do anyway.
I check "Gunbot" every few days, and it is down to about .07/rd.

My supply is about 1,500 rds. but the supply of centerfire ammo is much larger, allowing gradual use of .22.

Production and materials costs keep going up a bit every year so I would not count on the price ever going back to what we called "normal" last year. If there is not another Conn. type event in the near future we should see competitive prices in the next 3-4 months. I have seen posts with numbers as high as 11 million .22 LR rounds per day being produced so at some point even the hoarders will have their fill and inventories should go up.

It wasn't that long ago that 22lr was about 2.5 cents per round, and I'm pretty sure we will never see that again. The most recent purchase I made was for a box of 525 (I could only buy one box) at roughly 6 cents per round. I don't consider myself a hoarder, but whereas I used to feel OK with 1000 rounds in the cabinet, now I want at least 2000 to feel I can go to the range. Here in Rockford, IL I still cannot buy 22lr at all, but at a large gun shop close to Chicago (G.A.T. Guns) I usually have no problem now buying all types of handgun ammo.

Here is proof that the shortage is starting to ease...

Go to gunbroker.com and look at all the active bids for components. Almost no one is bidding.

It seems as if gunbroker is the place where people try to hoard at the brick and mortar, and then sell for a profit on GB.

Look at this fool selling 250 bullets/projectiles for this price lol

Re: The "Where is everything?" thread -- guns, ammo, primers, powder, etc.

Today I passed up 400 Sierra 175 gr Matchking bullets (.30 cal), 500 pieces of .308 brass, and 1200 large rifle primers (no limit).

I don't reload for anything that uses small rifle primers, but they had a couple thousand of them as well.

This was all at Bass Pro Shop for pre panic prices.

$94.95 for a box of .22

It's getting crazy out there for ammo. I saw this at the Houston gunshow this weekend. If you're looking for ammo prices, check out gunbot.com, instead of wasting your time at gunshow.

It pays to keep looking and searching for components

204 Berger 35 gr. have been hard to come by. Every evening is spent checking about 10 different online vendors and nothing has shown up for a couple of months. Tonight a Google search for "Berger Bullets for sale" and Outdoor Outfitters showed up with those Berger bullets. Ordered 500 as quick as my old crippled up fingers could fill type in the stuff. It pays to keep looking. The local shops haven't had 20 caliber Bergers for months.
