Has anyone ever been shooting and had the wedge come out? I mean...fly out?

I did the first time the other day. Even though it's fitted correctly, I will from now on give it a bit of a tap instead of just moderate thumb pressure.

I realized something was wrong when the barrel was half off.

Did find the wedge though.

Considering it's the first time it's happened to me, I guess I'm fortunate.
I do recall a photograph on the back page of one of the Lyman books with a feller holding the frame and cylinder with a surprised look on his face.

Nope. I always tap it lightly with something. Not very hard, but you can't pull or push it back out with just your fingers.

Mine are all fitted and a thumb push and I have never had one come loose.

Only once and knew the wedge was loose before I shot it. I like to set mine to be tighter than the thumb push. I alway squeeze the barrel and forend, tight while I insert the wedge and then tap it home say about 1/8 or so, from home. ...

You can also pin your wedge as mentioned in a previous post. It may work out but you will not lose as it will stay captured. Have never tried this but others have. ....

You don't 'pin' revolver wedges, only rifle wedges.

I always seat mine with thumb pressure. No problems with any loosening up so far.

I will say that this was the first cylinder full of full house loads I've ever run through the gun with Lee conicals- they've been light target loads until this point.

I plan on taking some small game with it this fall.

These loads are shooting about 4" high, which is about 1-2" lower than my plinking loads at 25 yards, but still getting a very acceptable group considering my abilities- and the bullets are staying straight.
