Good boots

I'm looking for some good, hard-use relaible, waterproof boots that are brown and rough-out leather (or nubuck or something that doesn't scuff too easily).

I need an uninsulated pair for summer and an insulated pair for winter (about 400g Thinsulate) - although if anyone knows of an all-purpose solution, I'd like to hear about it.

So far, in looking through a couple of different catalogs, the two boots that seem closest to what I am looking for are both in Cabela's. Anyone have any experience with the Outback boot or the Mountain Hunt boot mentioned in that catalog?
