Auction purchase
I bought an old Iver Johnson single shot at an auction a few weeks back. It has some problems.
1.When I pull the hammer back it does not lock. 2.The striker seems to be stuck. Anyone know where I can find comprehensive information about this gun or where I can get parts? I would like to fix it myself. If necessary, I will attempt to fabricate the parts. Old stainless break action so I had to buy it... |

You might try Numrich they sell new and used parts for all kinds of firearms.

I looked at numrichs and they had two types of single shot Iver Johnson listed and I am not sure which it is.
Step one is to find a place I can get more info about this shotgun |

JW62, take the stock off of the Iver Johnson. They are pretty straight forward and easy to work on.

Ahh, the 'whats this button do' method of gunsmithing.
Sometimes it is the only way... |

My thoughts kinda was some Hoppes No 9 in that old Iver Johnson might do wonders for freeing up things. Mine that was handed down to me from Uncle to Dad to Me had only four or five boxes of shells though it and it was somewhat like yours.
