Anbody have any good recipes? I just got a big ol' bottle of Power pistol and a big ol' box of Rainier 124 FMJ FPs...Having a hard time finding loads. I found some 124 fmj PP loads, but the short FPs make the OAL useless. Any ideas on this as well?

I have found Power Pistol to be the best powder for 124 gr FMJ 9mm.

The book load for Power Pistol [1.15" 6.6 gr]is faster than any other book load, except 3N37[6.6 gr 1.14"]. But Power Pistol is actually a better performer with 124 gr.

I prefer to bore out the throat for some more freebore, put is very stiff recoil springs, and set the over all cartrige length at the max 1.169".

One downside to the Power Pistol 124 gr load is the noise. It is the noisyiest 9mm load I know.

OAL 1.145-1.155" (based on YOUR gun), 6.1-6.7g.

It's been my experience that loading Power Pistol at or near the MAX charge has yielded the most accurate round with my 115 grainers in carbines, Glocks, and HKP7s.

I've had a hard time finding any stats or data for the rainier bullets. Made a batch w/ 6.3 @ 1.125 and had high pressure signs. Will try the longer OAL and report back. Thanks for the tips.

Power Pistol Loads for 9mm

I use power pistol for 9mm when I dont have Hodgdon Universal. I have a truncated cone 124 gr cast bullet that at 5.7 - 6.0 gr of Power pistol 1.065 OAL can, when I'm using a rest, group all ten rounds in less than 3" at 20 yards outside. Inside it's even better. THEN you see the muzzle flash!
