10/6 Deer
Took this one yesterday morning here in Ohio. Was thinking I was wasting my time hunting in this heat, but I was proven wrong.
Definetly not the biggest buck I've ever killed, but I've evolved from the macho antler fetish that seems rampant nowadays. I'm in it for me and I'm having a great time doing it. I had over a week and a half to hunt the rut this year, but fighting trespassers on our farm constantly forces you to take it when you can get it. Now I'll have plenty of time to prepare for our trip west for a mulie rifle hunt. Looking forward to that like a kid before Christmas. |

That's a great buck. I hope my first buck will be a smaller step brother to that one. Lol

Fine buck you got - the trophy is what you make it. Congrats.
I hope your local game wardens are helping you deal with trespassers/poachers.

Sweet buck!
Where you headed out west to hunt? We've got 'em in Utah!

Beautiful deer. It looks like you hit him right where your sight is resting, how far of a shot?

Yeah, I inadvertently put my sight right on the entrance hole, now I gotta get it all cleaned up. I took a 38 yard shot on him, got him right in the heart. He only went about 50 yards and I watched him go down.
