Yeah, a G17 or G19 works fine, and I even have one of the latter. But that's largely because I have very little emotional reaction to the thing one way or another.

I would be considering a Browning HP if it wasn't way out of my price range ($850+) and not available with an accessory rail.

I'm still torn between the CZ-75 and Beretta 92 for my own purposes.

Browning High Power would be my recommendation if you want to kick it old school.

Glock is you want something that is just going to work for you, day in/day out.

You can spend a lot on Sigs and HKs, etc.

You can find used Browning Hi Powers in excellent condition for around $500 if you look around and have cash.

I have a cz75b and three Berettas and can tell you that either is an excellent choice and both are at the top of the food chain when it comes to 9mm combat autos. That said, I still prefer the Beretta for its excellent balance, ergos, aesthetics and legendary track record for reliability. If you can't decide then flip a quarter and know that regardless of whether it's heads or tails......you win.
