6.5x47 Lapua
Hey guys,
I am considering building a 6.5x47 Lapua. I have already found a Rem 700 Short action 308 bolt face to start from. Any thing else I will need (other than barrel)? I am just trying to get an idea of price of the whole project. Last edited by jdefranc938; July 20, 2010 at 09:51 PM. |

Consider me confused as to why you're using a Rem 700 bolt face in a Win 70 receiver.

I belive he gave up on the idea of converting a small bolt face Winchester and edited the post but not the title.
I suggest you contact a good gunsmith about a new barrel. I assume you want a good one for a caliber promoted for target shooting. That will be about $500. You don't say where you stand with regard to a stock. The factory stock could be used, probably with pillar or glass bedding; or you could be in for a nice McMillan for another several hundred dollars. |
