Hornady .224" 53gr HP Match
Does anyone use these? I have a 1-14" twist, heavy barreled Rem700. I have produced great groups with the VMAX's but thought I would try my luck at the classic 22-250Rem load. A 53gr bullet (actually Hodgdon quotes a 52gr bullet) and some H380. When I first starting loading, I tried H380 with 50gr NBT's and got horrible accuracy. I later found out it was the bullets, but just kind of never tried H380 again... I don't know why.
But I'm ready to give it another shot. I have some tests rounds loaded. 5 rounds with 38gr, and 5 rounds with 38.5gr. I have these loaded .010" off the lands. These bullets have a much longer bearing surface than I'm use to, causing me to seat them much deeper than I'm used to. I'm very excited to let some loose. |

So they hold up to 22-250 velocities? That is a concern of mine.
