Colt M4 tactical 22 range review

Went to the range with the new Colt M4 tactical .22 today. I did find one big problem with it; it gobbles bulk pack ammo with reckless abandon.

Shooting metal reactive targets at 25, 50, and 75 yards was all too fun. A total of 310 rounds went thru it, 100 mini-mag and 210 fed bulk pack. The only stoppage was 1 failure to fire which I would not attribute to the firearm. I say this because an average range session with my 10-22 yields the same results. Unfortunately .22 ammo will have a suspect round or 2 in the box.

The firearm cycled perfectly, the only down side is the time spent to load the 30 round mags.

Great firearm!

Nice to hear a good review.

Update!

Another 550 bulk pack down range, 1 fail to fire in the whole box, did fire 2nd time thru.

860 rounds total with only 2 fail to fire, clearly the 2 failures were ammo related.

Functioned flawlessly, nice rifle.

Did you clean it after the first time you took it out?

I put 200 rounds of Fedeal Bulk through mine on Saturday with nary a failure of any kind. My Colt M4 .22 just keeps getting better and better. I have to say though that the bulk ammo is just slightly less accurate than the Mini Mags though.

Sounds like a really fun rifle. I can imagine ruining a pop-can's day with it....

Did not clean it yet, I will likely clean it before my next outing.
