Can a handloader mimic LeverRevolution?
Can a handloader mimic the results of LeverRevolution ammo out to 200 yards in a 30-30 and 45-70?
*I realize the pointed bullets will give an edge in the long shots, but can we mimic the trajectory for 200 yards? (using modern Marlin lever actions) If so, what is your load data? Edited to add: I want to do this without using hornady's bullets since cases must be trimmed shorter. Last edited by Northslope Nimrod; June 12, 2009 at 11:38 AM. |

Clarify, please: mimic it with handloads using the pointed Hornady FTX bullets (now available as components) or using something else? In the first case, I would say yes, since the velocities are roughly within reach of some reloading components with that bullet weight. Even if you can't quite get there on velocity, the trajectory will still be pretty close if the zero is the same as the one they use (3" hight at 100 yards). Personally I don't think that leaves enough for shooter/gun error, but that's a different discussion.
