Just got stamp in and it's wrong!!!!!

Well, after sending my two SBR forms in on 12DEC11, I got them back today. 1 was correct--no issues. The other for an AR SBR had 1 digit on the serial number off

!

What's the process like to correct this? Has anyone done this before? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't worry. The ATF will be out to confiscate your rifle soon.

I would call the NFA branch and tell them about it. You will probably have to send that form back to them.

I'm going to call them tomorrow but I'm just hoping it doesn't take another 7 months...

I doubt it.

A few years ago my dealer called me and said that my transfer was approved but something was wrong with my certificate of compliance. I forgot to sign it or something. I drove to his shop and filled out a new cert o compliance and sent it in. My tax stamp came it within the next week.

Granted, that was when transfers were taking 2 to 3 months but there is no reason you should have to wait 7 months for a correction on a stamp you are already approved for.

I guess any thing is possible but I would be surprised if it took more than a few weeks.

Usually corrections like that are quick, 2 -3 weeks.
