Donated my Fabrique Nationale M1918 BAR
...to the Camp Mabry military museum in Austin several years ago. I used to play "army" with it as a kid in St.Louis during the 1950s - Dad brought it back from France in 1945. It looked like this one minus the carry handle on top of the barrel:

Different times now. So far, i've never seen a kid playing army with his buddies with their squirt/bb guns and he's wielding a fully automatic B.A.R.! Hah! bet you were the coolest one of em all

Meatsaw--it's easy to find nice BAR pictures. You just have to spell it "FAL" nowadays

It took me many tries to find a photo of this particular BAR model since I didn't remember who manufactured them in Europe.
Not being very computer savvy early on didn't help with my search. |
