Fired 1st Reloaded 45's

Good Morning All,

Yesterday I made my way to the local sand pit and fired 28 rounds that I had reloaded.

The anxiety was strong having never reloaded before but I shot them anyway, with quite satisfactory results.

Components: .45 ACP

Remington brass
Remington 230gr FMJ bullets
CCI 300 Large Pistol Primers
IMR Hi-Skor 800X powder

Maximum charge - 7.3gr

I loaded 7 rounds each at 6.6gr, 6.8gr, 7.0gr, and 7.2gr

I found that my S&W 457S performed best with the 7.0gr though had no issues with any of the others.

The cases have all been washed and await a thorough look over for indications of excessive pressure but a quick visual showed no such issues.

I may move to lead bullets for the extra savings but still have 900+ rounds of the FMJs to work through first.

Many thanks to all that answered my questions over the last few months..

Thats great, welcome to a new world. For plinking I normally reduce my 45 rounds to add to my experience and save a little for next loading.
