9x23 resizing die

How do you modify a RCBS carbide resizing die so it will resize all the way down the case? The starline brass bulges after a few reloads and I don't want to buy a CasePro.

Starline shouldn't bulge with 9x23 loads. I shoot Starline .38 Supercomp brass at IPSC major loads (125 grn at 1450fps) without EVER having a bulged case. Do you have a fully supported barrel? Do the cases show any pressure signs, other than the bulging?

To answer your question, a friend chucked his sizer into a lathe and took off the bottom "flared" portion of the die. It worked perfectly. But it did slow down his reloading somewhat, as it was more difficult for cases to go into the die.

If it's so bulged as to require a trip through a CasePro suggest heave-ho'ing cases (and trying Winchester's).

I too shoot super comp. But a little slower with 124'S atop a compressed load of V.V 3n37 at 1350 fpc. with no problems.with my new starline brass. If your brl isnt fully supported your asking for trouble!!! DVC
