The Gun Room, Portland OR

Went after seeing their TV commercials. Avoid.

Extremely expensive. Extremely opinionated. The mantra seems to be "If we don't sell it, it's junk." ie, Glocks are plastic junk. Dude behind the counter claims you pay extra because they give a lifetime warranty on all their guns. I asked if they have a table at the local gun show, to which he sneered and derisively requoted as "scum shows" and said no respectable person sells at those places. Tried to sell me a CZ (85 if I remember) handgun for over $600.

Backed slowly out. Went to said gun show. Picked up barely used CZ75 at 1/2 that price.

Everybody has to go there at least once in their life just to see the ridiculous prices they charge.

But yeah the people there are idiots.

Totally agree. Anyone who visits Portland must make time. Totally worth it. Words to use are "Glock", "Bersa", "AK".

You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a store that remains in business no matter how many customers it insults and scares away...

The only way I can figure it stays in business is by shaming noobs into buying only from them.

Ask for Warren!

Having been an avid shooter (and competitive shooter) for 35 years, and having been in hundreds of gun shops (maybe thousands?), this is easily the worst ever! That is no small accomplishment!

If you wish to savor the full shopping experience this gun shop has to offer, simply do this:

1) Walk in and ask for "Warren".

2) Ask him why he doesn't sell AKs, Glocks, etc.

3) Ask him if the "junk" he refers to (his response to Question #2, above) is not the same "junk" most of the rest of the world uses.

3) Then ask him if he thinks being such a bigoted and condescending gun dealer reflects positively on the gun-owning community at large! (We already know how it reflects on him)

Thats it! Enjoy!
