frankly, I think they can be had cheaper today than I was paying a couple years ago. If I recall 5 pounds was pretty close to $50 bucks and there was a more limited selection/source.
same folks as Jim identified but 5 pound bags ending real close to your $70 target. http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Stee...HFNC7GFMWD2550 or 9 ponds for $66 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K4KHZW2?psc=1

About 3 years ago, I bought 5 pounds of 0.047" SS for about $45. Since then the price has come down from the same vendor to under $36 for 5 pounds of the same pins.
Vendor is Bullseye Reloading: http://www.bullseye-reloading.com/ Other vendors have similar pricing for the same product and quantity as well, for example, on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Stee...ing+pins+media I don't know if this qualifies as "cheap" in the mind of the OP, but it seems reasonable. Thanks guys... I guess the going rate is just that. I know I got guntap pins last time, but I feel like it was cheaper.... I'll have to check my order history.
