9mm starting load
Hi, I'm looking for a starter load for my 9mm, using Hogdens Universal and Berry's 124 gr rn. Will be fired from any one of the following pistols, Glock 17, 34, Sig 226 or S&W 6906
Thoughts, suggestions & ideas welcome Thanks |

I'll let you know once I get the keyholing under control. Tried using 124gr TC lead over 4.3gr of Universal or 4.0 of 231, both tumbled like a gymnast. I have some 2.9 and 3.2gr 231 to test out, will report back as to the results.
Many have reported better stability with the 147gr lead bullet, I may have to go that route if this doesn't work. |

Chris what are you shooting that TC out of? If its a Glock with stock barrel, I never had any luck with that setup. Matter fact just got my new barrel yesterday and see today if it improves at all.

zeezee,
Use steve4102's link to find a comprehensive listing of data for all the powders that Hodgdon distributes (Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester). I'm using a 125g LRN bullet instead of a plated, but it's usually recommended to the lead data for plated bullets. 125g LRN w/ Hodgdon Universal 3.8g Start, 4.3g Max 125g FMJ w/ Hodgdon Universal 4.3g Start, 4.8g Max I tested 3.8g to 4.3g on Saturday for my 125g LRN bullet and decided on 4.2g of Universal. Hope this helps. |

I load the Berry's 115 gr. round nose with 4.8 gr. Unique and they don't tumble at all.
