production date of my marlin 1894
Gentlemen
I have a Marlin 1894 44.40 hex barrel carbine given to me by my Gandmother. I realize that tracking by serial number is not an exact science but perhaps you can help. Besides the normal patent information on the barrel the only serial number I can find is in front of the trigger gaurd. It's stamped 909. Seems to be a relatively low number. Any comments? I did just notice the model number is a Model 94. Last edited by dbeck; November 27, 2011 at 12:40 PM. |

Your octagon barreled .44-40 carbine, made in 1905, was made in much fewer numbers than the more commonly-found round-barrel specimens.
