18in 11-87 barrel

Anyone know who sells 18in Rem 11-87 Barrel's? I checked the Remington website, but they don't list anything shorter than 21in.

Will an 870 (or 1100)Barrel fit an 11-87? I thought the 11-87 had a gas port or something like that, since it is a semi-auto.

Buy any used 11-87 barrel and cut it down to length...
You can do it yourself if you're careful with a fine blade on the hacksaw, and fine file the edges very neatly with a very fine fine.

AMT,

Take a look at http://www.remingtonle.com/shotguns/1187.htm . Whacking off a longer gas gun barrel as short as 18" is going to require adjustments to the gas ports, and that is not likely a DIY deal...

An 11-87 will not function with a barrel shorter than 21 inchs, the shorter barrel will release the pressure to fast causing the gun to short cycle.

If this was true, then why would Remington sell an 18" 11-87P?

The police guns are ported different than a field gun I assume that we are talking about a field gun here.
