Smith & Wesson Shield in CA
I'd like to know if the S&W Shield is available in CA yet?

If you sort by barrel length you can pretty much see that there aren't any pistols at 3.1" on the list ... |

It'll probably take a little while for the Shield to pass the required lab inspections in order to be listed on the CA Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale. (If I remember right, neither of the authorized labs used by CA are actually in CA, though.)
Since one of the variations of the new Shield has a magazine safety, which is a requirement for CA, and CA is such a large part of the commercial market for the company (look at the sheer number of S&W's on the roster), I'd expect they're probably in the process of having the Shield approved.

Save up your money few 3 or4 more months and get the Sig P239 in 9MM. Its what you really wanted to begin with. Buy once buy right!
