I'm not sure about that model number. I have the fully equipped version. I still replaced a bunch of parts. I try to have a standard for my AR's so they will all feel and function in a similar way. Once I changed the FH to a BattleComp, various pieces to Magpul, and the trigger to an SSA-E, I was happy. I really think the Ruger design is superior. All my other AR's are DI but I have to admit I really do like the way the Ruger works. I consider it my most heavy duty AR now.

They are more expensive than the DI models but quite competitive with other op-rod models.

I have the carbine version, slapped a bunch of Magpul add-ons and a Aimpoint Pro, been very happy with it.

There was some issues with "carrier tilt" but I think they got that worked out now if not a new buffer tube really isn't that big of deal if you had to replace it every 5000 rounds.

I got one for this last Father's Day. Really happy with it so far. I just picked up a Lucid HD7 sight for it yesterday and will sight that in today if the weather is nice.

It is being used as my duty rifle, but I will take it out every now and then to play with it. Nothing against the issued Bushmaster I had before turning it in, but I wasn't able to outfit the weapon like I wanted to since it was issued.

Oh, the great thing about the SR-556 is that the bolt carrier group remains clean and cool since it is piston driven. Check out YouTube videos on it to see what I'm talking about.
