Horus Talon 1-4x24

I just picked up a Horus Talon 1000 and am thinking about putting it on my RA XCR. I like the fact that on 1, I can use it just like a red dot , and yet when I crank it out to 4, I have enough power to see smaller targets out at 300. The way I look at it I have the red dot and a magnifier all rolled in one.The XCR is accurate enough to deserve optics. It is either that or put it on the M1A, but I like the M1A with open sights. What would you guys choose? Any of you here familiar with the optic?

I installed the scope on the XCR and I am starting to really appreciate the increased versatility, as I can make longer range shots easier. My eyes need all the help they can get. I also appreciate the precise aiming point when compared to the red dots and Eotech. The tradeoff is the increased weight, but unlike the battery powered scopes, I can use the reticle without illumination, although it is there if I need it. The Horus H-50 reticle will take some getting used to, but I can see how easy the reticle will make holdover, windage without turret adjustments.
