Here's something from Brownells Gunsmiths' Newsletter (No. 137, Fall 2000):

"J-B Bore Cleaning Compound Helps the Marines - Gary Thibodaux, Thiboduax, Louisana. 'My son Chad, who was a Corporal in the Marine Corps, had commented on the difficulty that he and his crew members had in cleaning their M240 machine guns. While at the SHOT Show, I picked up a variety of bore cleaners, including J-B. I sent these to Chad with instructions to let me know what worked best and I would then get him more of that product. He soon let me know that J-B was the absolute best. I then sent him a much larger quantity of J-B.

'According to Chad, it cut their cleaning time from 1 1/2 hours to 10 to 15 minutes! By the way, Chad and his crew later won a major Marine Corp machine gun competition at Camp Pendelton with their J-B treated gun.'"
