marlin 2000L

I bought my grandson a marlin 2000L for shooting in 4h and was wondering is this gun good enough for him to shot in cmp competition?

I shoot a Marlin 2000 in winter biathlon.
Targets are 50 meters (65 feet-ish) and either the size of a silver dollar (prone) or a grapefruit (standing).
I don't know if that helps you or not, but the M2k is plenty accurate for the job. Me, however....

The Marlin 2000 is accurate enough to win if he is.

When I first started shooting smallbore that was the rifle I started with.

The only thing they need is a better trigger.
