I need advice about changing the length of pull on a synthetic stock and installing a decellerator pad.

I'm preparing a Brownell's order- Will I need anything special?

Tips, articles, links all appreciated...

DeBee, the easiest way to measure your LOP is to hold your upper arm parallel with the floor, elbow bent and 90 degrees and forarm pointing up. Curl your trigger finger as it would be in the guard and measure from your finger to the crook of your elbow. Whatever thickness of clothing you will be wearing when using the gun should be worn when measuring. Measure the lop that you want from the trigger toward the stock and mark it. And don't forget the pad. If your final LOP is to be 14" and your pad is 1" thick then the stock must be cut to 13". After it's cut you will have to determine whether you have enough boss left to screw on or if you need to epoxy the pad in place. If it's to be screwed on attach the pad and scribe a line all the way around the stock. Then use the B-Square recoil pad jig as per instructions to get the correct angle of the toe. OR attach the pad by glue or screws, wrap a couple of layers of masking tape around the stock and use a disc sander to take the pad down until it touches the tape. You want to keep in line with the comb and toe of the stock. Remove the masking tape down to 1 layer and with a fine file take the pad on down to the tape. If you're careful you'll never touch the stock. With the jig you can sand all the way down to the line and just have minor touchup after the pad is in place. George
