Remington R2000 E-muffs

Anyone have experience with these? I mentioned to my wife that a set of electronic earmuffs would be a great Christmas present and a few days later she handed me a set of R2000's. It seems that Wallyworld carries them and as she works there, and gets a discount, well, there you go. I haven't tried them at the range yet but around the house they appear to work well enough. My biggest question is about battery life. Remington ships them with a set of batteries but some dipstick in sporting goods ran them down. (would that qualify as being a mall ninja? )

It took two different stores before I found the right battery.

Thanks.
