Magpul's latest Facebook status wins EVERYTHING, and shows the state assembly what they think of their bill.

Quote:
We are proud to announce that within a matter of days we will be going live with a new program. Due to a bill currently moving through the Colorado legislature, there is the possibility that Colorado residents' ability to purchase standard capacity magazines will soon be infringed. Before that happens, and Magpul is forced to leave the state in order to keep to our principles, we will be doing our best to get standard capacity PMAGs into the hands of any Colorado resident that wants them.

Verified Colorado residents will be able to purchase up to ten (10) standard capacity AR/M4 magazines directly from Magpul, and will be given immediate flat-rate $5 shipping, bypassing our current order queue.

Our customers outside of Colorado, please know that our PMAG production will continue at an ever-increasing rate until we do relocate, shipments to our distributors in other states will continue, and that we do not expect relocation to significantly impact PMAG production. We are also aware that Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.

Full details and instructions will be announced when we are able to go live; please watch here for the coming announcement.

I don't have any need for PMAGs. Now I kinda wish I did. Maybe I'll buy a hat from Magpul.

I wish that MagPul made PMAGs for the Mini-14. That would be so awesome.

Buy some more Ranger Plates for my Lady Friend's dad, though.

Seriously, the folks running Magpul are giving a clinic in PR. What a move; keeps your loyal in-state fans happy, pokes a stick in the eye of intrusive legislators, gets mountains of additional free press, and fully stocks the hell out of Colorado with pre-ban magazines. Whether the ban goes through or not, one thing will be certain; Colorado is going to have a LOT more magazines with a +15 capacity than we did before our elected officials started drafting gun control legislation.

So, to recap, these laws will:
  • Have little to no impact on violent crime
  • Drive hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars from the state, just when we need both the most
  • Criminalize law-abiding citizens
  • Dramatically increase the number of "high capacity" magazines in civilian hands in the state
  • Make Colorado the laughing stock of western states

Well done, Colorado lawmakers. Well done.

Magpul leaving Colorado?????

The Colorado-first campaign is completely brilliant. As someone with a decent sized backorder, I will HAPPILY cede my place in line. Flood Colorado with thirty rounders. Tens of thousands. Hundreds of thousands. Make the stupid law even more useless than it is.

Gotta love politicians I guess. I don't know how I missed the boat on such a lazy, simple profession???? I guess it was because I have a backbone, it never occured to me to go into politics. I am glad Magpoul is doing the Mag dump in Colorado. I will be buying some, and a new forend grip for the AR while I am at it I think......maybe a stock too.......

The cynic in me is thinking that Magpul basically just gave "head of the line" privileges to every "flipper" in Colorado who wants to buy some magazines and sell them out of state while the demand is still high and the supplies are still scarce.

Don't get me wrong - it's still a great idea and a nice "thumb in the eye" to the Colorado legislators, but I wonder if it might not have been more effective (in terms of getting more standard-capacity magazine into the hands of Coloradans before they're banned) if they had waited until closer to July and given the market a chance to stabilize first.

I won't lie, I thought about "flipping", but then I woke up and realized I could use the mags more than the money.

BTW, their Facebook post mentioned a ten-magazine max per person while they're doing this, so unless you have everyone and your grandmother buying $20 mags to sell for $40, it's probably not worth your time I applaud them for doing this. The biggest "f$&@ you" is when hickenlooper's signature costs more than $50,000,000 and puts 200 additional people out of work for his feel good law.

I probably will have some family members buy some for me (not to flip). Now the real dilemma; how many Pmags could one guy need to last 30-40 years? I'm thinking 20...?

They didn't say they're going out of business. They will still be making and selling them! No need to stampede the doggies!

They haven't said yet, and they won't move if the mag limit bill doesn't pass. Most people are guessing Wyoming (Cheyenne) because many of the employees could keep their jobs and commute, OR commute for a while and eventually move to WY.

Re: Magpul leaving Colorado?????

Supported Magpul, just ordered a MOE hand guard, trigger guard, angled foregrip and mounting rails. Just need to get a few more things and my AR will be Magpuled out.

I would make sure I posted a letter to the editor, sent copies to all the legislatures and governor, the mayor of the city you would have chosen, and the local news tv channel. If enough folks like you do this with the WHYs of it all, the ensuing publicity might start some of them backpedaling

Just tried calling ALL the senators on the panel to be hearing the gun control bills on Monday. All of their inboxes are full, and nobody is picking up phones.

Doubt they're listening though.

Magpul leaving Colorado?????

Not sure you will see any companies move. I think it is showboating and their bluff will be called. Socialist care little for a couple non government jobs. They will all most likely stay put and sell their products out of state. Eventually they will be forced to relocate out of the country and the squeeze will continue.

Magpul gets my business and I'm in Nevada. With the laws they are passing in California even worse, I read about Californians looking for real estate in Nevada. I like Wyoming, Montana so maybe a Californian will buy my place in Nevada and I can move up there.
Face it, politicians are forcing a lot of folks to relocate. I've always loved Colorado and take Harley rides about every year to 4 corners and north. Now I can say "I've seen it a few times" and cross Colorado off my list.
Someday they'll wake up....maybe?

Magpul leaving Colo.??

Hi all,
I saw on the news that Colo. has passed new magazine restriction laws. What does this mean? Do they take effect immediately? Will Magpul pick up and leave like they said they would? What's everyone's thoughts?

I think the Governor is going to sign the bills today, and the magazine ban would become effective this summer.

As of last night, Magpul has reaffirmed their intention to leave 'almost immediately' if the bill is signed into law, with the first "not made in Colorado" magazines being produced within a month.

The Gov is reportedly signing the bill today. Magpul has indicated that they would move to another state if the bill was passed. I sincerely hope they follow through with their threats.

Probably a good idea for them to get out. I was not surprised to hear main stream media praising COs gun control legislation. CO is now a one party state.
Magpul should follow thru with their threat. I am sure COs business climate will change with its one party rule.
