Micropterus and I have had roughly the same experience. This morning, my VSP check at the Old Dominion Gun Show took about ten minutes. Moreover, except at the really big shows, that's about as long as I've ever had to wait.

I get delayed each and every time I purchase.
I normally try to get over to the shop to start the paperwork on my lunch breaks, and then call over when I get off to see if it's cleared yet. Least time it's ever taken for me was 3-4 hours. Tried with social security, and without it, same deal.

rburch I noticed your add. as Blacksburg I bought 2 hand guns and a rifle in Pulaski Va. in 2011 never took over 10 min. for any of them. I also put SS# on the forms
