Newbee need some help

I have a Hornady L&L progressive and will be reloading once fired 223 LC brass I have removed primer
swagged pocket
trimmed the cases to 1.750
tumbled in sst pins

I was told when loading military brass to reduce the powder by 10% due to the case thickness

1) is this correct

Here is my load data Hornady 55 Gr SP w/c # 2260 Bullet
powder Norma 201 21.06 grains Note the Hornady manual says 23.4 gr

this is below the minium powder load on the Hornady load chart would this be correct.

Just dont want to mess anything up

Thanks in advance for the help

NO!

.223/5.56 brass, commercial or military all varies from make and lot to make and lot.

Just start with the normal 'starting' load and work from there.

Be safe,

Just study the data, and always double check your sources before each session. Just take your time and relax and you shouldn't mess anything up to bad! Remember even most MAX loads give you a little room for error, so don't be afraid or blowing up your gun.

It all depends on which kind military brass you are using. I have loaded the CBC 7.62x51 for my 308. The capacity on these seems very close to the Federal brass. The biggest issue I have with these is that they are staked in three places. I have found the easiest way to deal with the stake marks is to use the chamfering tool to take just enough of that stake mark out to let the primer seat. I loaded about 15 or so this way and had no issues.

I was going by the Hornady 9th Edition manual
minimum load is

23.4 gr of powder
bullet 55gr Hornady 2266
All Brass is LC 11

col 2.200
