military pistol markings

I have a Star BM 9 semi automatic pistol that has a flaming bomb with a "P" inside marked on the barrel, slide, and frame. I know that the US military arsenal markings included the flaming bomb, the letter "P", and sometimes the "P" inside the flaming bomb. Did this Spanish gun maker also utilize this type of markings for their military weopons or could this be something that was made for the US military? The pistol was produced sometime in the mid 70's.

I can not answer any of your questions but one. You best believe if it was Spanish manufactured or from another foreign producer, it was not purchased under a Military Contract.

This is why many do not understand why Glocks are not purchased or eligible for contract by the U.S. Army which buys basically all the U.S. Military small arms and ammunition.

There is a possibility there are mixed part like in 1911's for a single pistol since many of these parts are some-what interchangeable.
