Thats a funny pic. It looks posed though since the shooter is not wearing hearing protection (I can't see any plugs anyways).

On a side note, how bad is it to fire a gun near a dog? With their extra sensative hearing, doesn't it really hurt them? I don't think they make doggy ear muffs though.

Stephen I was just thinking the same thing about the dog's hearing. In Vietnam. I'm sure there were plenty of handlers that got in firefights with their dog nearby. There's stories of the shepards dragging their wounded handler to safety by their flak jackets and what not.

Not everyone uses hearing or eye protection everytime they shoot. It's true.

Hand guns are already plenty loud for me with hearing protection. I can't imagine how loud center fire rifles must be without hearing protection. I know not everyone uses it, but then again, I guess they don't value their hearing either.

My G. Shepherd will only tolerate .22LR. But she WILL tolerate it if I take her squirrel hunting. She hates tree rats, but she does a great job of finding them after they tumble out of the tree.

Looks like the guy has orange earplugs in. Doesn't matter if it is faked or not. It is still funny.

I'm guilty of the latter of the two. Only time I didn't use hearing protection was when I took my brother to the range, and must of forgotten some plugs. I value my younger brothers hearing more then mine so I gave him the muffs. Wouldn't of been a big deal if we didn't have a black powder rifle and a .308 going off next to us.

Please be advised that I have been authorized by the Feline Liberation Front ("FLF") to respond to this thread.

The FLF has been monitoring this type of activity for several years. Yes, felines are everywhere, and they are reporting this type of activity. All of those times you see your cat "sleeping", it is really gathering and collecting information for future use.

The FLF is organizing counter-sniper teams, which will be armed with long-range wildcat calibers. If it is war you want, then war you shall have.

Go ahead and coddle your silly canines, while you still can....

I am offended by this thread and think that the mods should take it down ASAP. I love cats - they taste just like chicken!!!!
