Akron / Cleveland Ohio gunsmith
I'd like to have an extended beaver tail and new hammer installed on my Springfield Mil-Spec 1911-A1. Unfortunately, from the research I've done, these are not just 'drop in' parts.
I can send the gun to Springfield, and they'll do the work including refinishing the frame for more than I want to spend. I talked to a local guy and got a random price for the work that includes parts, but I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling while speaking with him. I felt like I was interrupting what he really wanted to be doing... So... Can anyone recommend a reputable smith in the Akron / Cleveland area? Thanks. |

There used to be a guy named Steve Nastoff up in Akron (?). Dunno if he still is, haven't heard of him in awhile.
