Reloading Blanks

Is there a way that one could load blanks to fire?
Preferably ones that would cycle in a semi.

Blanks

Getting a semi auto to cycle with blanks always involves some kind of modification to the gun.

The military uses blank adaptors that fasten to the outside of the barrel and restrict the bore. There is no way to make blanks function in an autoloader without some kind of device to plug the barrel (and this doesn't always work).

Movie "prop" guns are modified to work with blanks, and are unsafe to use live ammo in.
