1911 supressor mismatch
i have a 1911 with a threaded barrel. the threads are .578 x 28.
i have a suppressor with 14mm threads. planning to weld a new mount on the can and tap it for .578 x 28. only problem, a tap for that size doesn't exist! trust me, i've spent hours online looking and the best i can find is a machinist who will make one for me for $160!! i don't think i can recut the barrel and maintain wall thickness. any ideas? thanks

You could but a new threaded barrel. Contact the manufacturer of the suppressor/barrel and they may tell you where to procure a tap.
