which bullets work well in Taurus PT-145?

i was going to get my dad a few different kinds of .45 bullets (bullets) to use in his Taurus pt-145 i was thinking Hornady Xtp 230g hp and some speer 185g hp. As far as i know he has the newest version of this gun, i have heard some people say that certain bullets would not feed properly in this gun and i didnt want to get him bullets that he couldnt really use.

if you have some info on this as to what bullets would function well please let me know. thanks

Edit - Let me retract my statement in earnest. I was just having a little fun.

I've owned a couple of Taurus semis. They were for the most part reliable range guns. The finish on the other hand left a little to be desired, but that doesn't make them go bang. Please accept my apology.

also since i bought a Hornady LNLAP a while back i can still get some free bullets and was wondering if the
.45 cal 185g HP/XTP bullets fed well with this gun otherwise i was probably just going to get some 115g 9mm RN for my XD(m)9.

i've used about four different types in my PT145 and it digests and ejects them all. Funny but the 180 gr hollow points it would flip them on my head. I stick to the 230 grains after that.

I have the PT745 wich is the same gun as the PT145 but with a single stack.
230gr anything imo,the lighter bullet will create more muzzle flip as these guns are small and lite.Id dont remember shooting +p,i would think i would have remembered that.

At the range a few months back i had a guy stop me and ask about my PT745 about what it was and its caliber,he noticed just how much recoil i was getting with that gun compared to my 1911 i was shooting.

I carry Hornady XTP TAP 230gr +p

i shoot 185gr. golden sabers out of mine.. it is also the newer one and have shot lots of diffrent kinds of ammo with no issues.. but i like the 185's myself

I use Hornady TAP 200g hollow points, though I haven't found any new to buy in a long time. When those run out I'd like to try the new Critical Defense, but haven't seen those anywhere either. I guess I'll use whatever I can find.

As for ball ammo, mine has fed various Remington, Winchester, CCI, and American Eagle with no issue. The only problems I had was a few failure to return to battery with some really old and corroded Lake City stuff (it was free).

peejman-As of yet they only make the Critical Defense in the highest caliber of 9mm so far.Im not sure if they plan to do .40 or .45 but i hope so.

In my 2 ccw .45's i have the 230gr XTP Tap's +p and 230gr Corbon +p both seem to be highly reviewed and liked.

Id prefer those in 230gr but definitely worth looking at.
Also these are standard power and NOT +p

As has been said, most good ammo will work well. I have a PT-745 with a single stack mag (smaller grip for easier concealment). The .45s feed almost straight into the chamber from the mag, rather than running up the ramp like others. This means fewer mis-feeds. I love this gun. Even with the small, short grip, it's easily controllable and accurate.
