converting Ballard #3 to 25/20

I have a Ballard #3 gallery in 22 cal. Barrel needs relining, I could of course reline it to 22 cal and avoid dealing with converting to center fire. My question is will the action handle a 25/20?
Recently ordered a 32 barrel from Mike at TJ's to convert a Hopkins & Allen 25 rim fire to S&W 32 long. I will have to build a new block to remove play and gain center fire capability. Or would 32 S&W long be as good in the Ballard. Been thinking about this to a point of confusing myself.
