I'm just looking for one-sentence explanation of the various types of sports or games which shotguns are used for.

My wife was asking what the difference was between terms like "skeet," "trap," "sporting clays," and so on. I've no idea, having never fired a shotgun or learned about any of the stuff they are used for.

(The only thing I know about shotguns is which one I want... The Remington Marine Magnum. Nice looking gun, and the slide seems very smooth...)http://www.remington.com/FIREARMS/shotguns/870MRMAG.HTM

Thanks in advance for your help with this question.

Thanks... I'll be Soooooo glad when the Search is working again!

TFL comes through again with excellent information. I knew this was probably a FAQ, but wouldn't have guessed that I was duplicating a question asked within the previous week. When the Search is back up, I'll switch back to using it for suspected FAQ.

Thanks, folks.
