Saw a couple of the guys shooting this gun at Knob Creek. My sis-n-law is interested in this in .38 caliber. Plans on shooting 38s. They look good. Does anyone have any experience with this gun? What brand? Recommends?

Ned,
I had a prototype"66 in .38 spl[Moon has it now] and I now use a current [about 5 years old] 44-40 from time to time. Only Uberti makes it regardless of importer. Some of the prototypes were made in the US. They are generally excellent. The short rifle and rifle have better sights but the carbine handles easier. They are usually the smoothest rifle out of the box. Current models are slick and dependable.

We just went to our first cowboy action shoot yesterday. I've always like the Yellowboy's in the movies now after seeing one in person and fondelling them I've just got to have one. We're in the midst of gearing up for CAS and the Yellowboy in 38 will be my rifle!!!

From what I'm told the Cimarron Uberti has the best action, finish, and wood so that's the one were getting.
